Amber Swert-fager was recognized for the committment to team award, Yanina Mickelsen won for enthusiasm for the game and Danelle Lekkerkerker was presented with the implementation of skills award. Others on the boys varsity basketball team include Richard Aguiar, Matthew Bidart, Christian Bonte, Eric Borba, Gabriel Bouvet, Mark Buck, Scott Martin, Daniel Murphy, Matthew Payne, Eddie Psota, Jason Toth, Eric Trinidad and Bobby Wolfe.

The boys junior varsity team consisted of Rory Barker, Joshua Lockwood, Vincent Lowe, Matthew Milbury, Tommy Pulver and Tim West. Members of the girls varsity team include Lisa Behounek, Massarra Fargo, Karina Gonzalez, Elizabeth Naf, Adrienne Norero, Audrey Ourique, Keri Payne, Julie Roseli, Kate Scott and Jessica Toth. The JV girls include Kim Burless, Alethea Espinosa, Andrea Fernandes, Jenny Guzik, Michelle Hull, In-gred Kredel, Shelly Lekkerkerker, Yesenia Lopez, Jessica Pennekamp and Karie Peterson. In addition, three athletes from both varsity teams were selected as all-stars. They included Miranda, Bouvet, Hauser, Saavedra, Scott and Fernandes.

By Cheryl Wittman Staff Writer Members of the Saint Margaret Mary Catholic School basketball teams were honored with a school assembly for their accomplishments this season on the basketball court. Head coach Butch Brown guided the boys varsity basketball team to a fourth place finish and second in their East Division with a 5-3 record in the Crestvale Parochial League. The Panthers competed in post season play by entering the Riverside Educational Tournament. They fell to Victor Valley in the quarterfinals. During the assembly, Jesse Miranda received the committment to the team award, Phillip Hauser won for his enthusiasm for the game and Kevin O'Conner won for implementation of skills.

On the junior varsity level, coach Randy Reams selected Brad Lekkerkerker and Randy Reams for the committment to team award, David Dickerson won for enthusiasm for the game and Juan Lopez was honored for implementation of skills. The girls varsity team was led by coach Kerry Kulisek. The Lady Panthers finished in third place with a 6-2 league record. Becky Scott received the committment to the team award, Lisa Saavedra won for enthusiasm for the game and Janine Ourique was presented with the tmplementa- complishments in basketball. Yanina won for enthusiasm for game, Amber was recognized for committment to the team and not shown is Danelle Lekkerkerker, who won for implementation of skills.
