Staff photo by Cheryl Witlnun Jog-a-thon pays off By Cheryl Wittman Staff Writer Six lucky St. Margaret Mary School students rode away on their brand new bikes they received last Friday for bringing in the most money in the school's annual jog-a-thon. According to the jog-a-thon chairperson Terri Miller, the school raised approximately $12,000. The categories were broken down to kindergarten through se cond grade, third through fifth grade and sixth through eighth grade.

The first place girls and boys in each category won the bikes. The kindergarten through second grade winners were Jennifer Davis and Bryan Murphy. Cipriano Gamino and Lizette Sarabia won for third through fifth grade, and Buffy Caine and Kevin O'Conner won the sixth through eight grade division. The second place winners received AMFM cassettes. They include Jennifer Golotta, Timmy Miller and Anthony Alveo.

Students placing third won $25 gift certificates to local merchants. The winners were Robert Williams, Brian Piech and Matthew Bidart. Morgan Prodack, Mark Lonneman and Cody Alcott also won $10 for running the most laps. Special prizes went to David Graff (TV), Kate Scott (2 Disneyland tickets) and John Johnson (Straw Hat Pizza) in the Early Bird Drawing for being one of the first to turn their money in.
